Positive Thinking…

I have been thinking about my thought life and I have a plan that may change it for the better.

For every 1 do 3…

Have you ever heard of the 3 to 1 rule?  For every one negative comment you say to a child, you should have three positive things to say.

I like that, and I really should do that more often.  I tend to dwell on the negative over and over again…and forget I need to greet that with something wonderful and pleasant times three.  I used to be so good at this as a therapist and a teacher…but as a mom?  I seem to forget this golden rule of parenting. And perhaps for my self.

I shared it over with my dear friend, AnnMarie at Tidbits from the Queen of Chaos today and would love for you to stop by and see what you think!  If you missed her very raw and genuine post the other day, you just must go see it here.  After that- come by the Tidbits from the Queen of Chaos and share your own thoughts…

It is so true, with anything in life. I tell my kids “fake it till ya make it”. I hate my job, but, it is funny when I stopped saying that, it suddenly got better. I didn’t stop hating it, I just changed my attitude.

I like the 3 to 1 rule, I had never heard of it till now. That is certainly something I must try…I wish there was just an eraser sometimes!!

I wish there was an eraser too!! I big ol’ FAT one for those really negative days/hours/minutes/ where I swam in all that was negative! So much of life is all in the mindset… it’s amazing what happens when our perspective changes. We must be intentional with our thoughts. It’s hard but well worth the effort, as you have experienced yourself my pea!! (No one will understand that last word! LOL)

It is simple enough… but yet it is difficult when we are in the thick of that negative pool swimming around and not coming up for some much needed positive air. (What? Not sure if that makes any sense! ) Anyhoo… you are so welcome and I will continue to pass the word on about how FABULOUS you are Julie!!! 🙂
