I’ve learned something about leading a balanced life…
You simply can’t.
And no matter how hard you try to juggle all the balls in the air with systematic distribution, rolling them off your hands with ease and precision…
One ball will fall.
You simply cannot keep every ball in the air, no matter how planned and prepared you are to face every day.
Parenting is unpredictable.
Life is unpredictable.
And we do not have balancing super powers, as much as we’d like to think we do.
Heck, even when the day goes as planned- nothing we do takes the exact amount of time we think it would. I could blame the kids, but let’s be real.
We ALL fight the battle of balance.
There are just too many areas in our lives that need our attention and too little time to tend to them all. Time is not a friend to balance.
Time ticks on…
And we will surely sacrifice some things in order to pay closer attention to other things.
It’s the true ebb and flow of life, really.
Most of my favorite moments have been when I let go of the balancing act and pay attention to the people and pursuits that mean the most.
That’s where the good stuff happens, isn’t it?
I would LOVE for you to read my latest article on PARENTCO.COM, where I write about this difficult topic HERE. I think we can all relate to the challenge of finding balance and living with productivity AND intention…
Even when we let balls drop to the ground.
Let’s keep our eyes on the ones in the air.
Those are the most important ones, anyway.
