About Me
I am a “forty something” stay at home mother with an abundant life! Before I got married and had kids, I worked as a music therapist for several years in Chicago’s inpatient psychiatric hospitals. I then moved to residential group homes managing creative arts and recreation programming, which was an amazing experience. In that time of my life, I learned and grew to know the pain and suffering of so many people. It was incredibly fulfilling to be a part of their healing.
I then moved to Columbus, Ohio to live near my sister and her family. I started my own business teaching music in various private schools and home school co-ops, meeting wonderful children and parents! I stopped teaching a few years ago, as I realized the ever- growing need to focus on caring for my children. The burden of their medical ailments was consuming and I felt compelled to provide my total attention to them.
I am currently spending my days running my kids to and from school, spending time with friends, writing, volunteering, and I serve in many ministries at church. I host a women’s group in my home as well as a wonderful church small group. I try to keep up with my ever growing and changing kids as best I can while keeping the house in some sort of order! My greatest joy and fulfillment is having nourishing and loving relationships in my life. I am deeply blessed to spend most of my time with many different amazing people, and I have found the same to be true in this great blogosphere! For that, I am so grateful.
How did I start this blog? Well, I have been working on a diary for each of my children since the moment I was pregnant with them. I have been writing for years and thought I should “venture” into a new venue as my dear husband encouraged me to start this blog. I love to connect with people and especially love to look at and reflect on life circumstances with humor and inspiration. My hope is to touch people in any way I can, and shine a little light in their world through my writing…
SO lovely to meet you,
Chris

Hi! I’m visiting via Faith Blogger Network on fb. I am a mom of 5 kids, 2 biological and 3 adopted. One of our adopted daughters went to a residential treatment facility for sexually abused kids so I know the importance of helping others. I commend you on your profession, both previously and now with your family. Ours has been both a joyous and heartbreaking story. I hope you’ll visiting Marty’s Musings and we have a chance to connect.
Blessings,
Marty

Hi Chris – I nominated you for a Liebster Award.
You probably have way more followers than this little award requires but I thought you deserved it anyway. http://wp.me/p1qcrl-1yK

AW!!!!! I am SO HONORED!!!! I probably have a lot less than you think and certainly my numbers will probably fit the bill for this award if I remember correctly… I have seen it around! Thank you SO MUCH Stephanie!! What do I do now? (Not a clue)
You’re welcome
You don’t have to do anything. Just know that you are appreciated. Or you could pass it on. Check out my post for the image if you would like to spread the love.
